I am a business leader and strategist with significant experience as a law firm CEO and an executive director in a national law firm. I am a qualified lawyer and chair of a charity I co-founded in 2006 which supports over 100 families across the South East of England.
During my career I have been engaged in numerous roles which have helped to develop and build my expertise as a business leader, a strategic adviser, business developer and commercial member of executive boards. I have experience in acquiring and selling businesses and have led on merger and acquisition strategies in my various roles.
During my time at Irwin Mitchell my role as Group Chief Commercial Officer included working with the Executive Board and the CEO to set out the growth strategy for the firm including organic business development strategies and lateral hire, team hire and M&A strategies. I was board sponsor for the firm’s responsible business strategy and for transformation programmes across the business. I led and managed the business development, pricing, propositions, client experience, responsible business and strategic growth teams.
Prior to my CCO role at Irwin Mitchell, my first role post acquisition of our business was to lead on integration of the two businesses ensuring talent retention and achievement of planned synergies as well as working closely with the CEO to establish a joined up strategy. Following this role I was invited to lead the Business Services division as CEO with responsibility for a P&L with revenues in excess of £50m and a team of over 500 people. This role involved setting strategic direction, people leadership and engagement and financial management.
Prior to joining Irwin Mitchell I was Managing Partner at Thomas Eggar LLP (turnover £40m) for three and a half years. During that time, I experienced the various complexities of leading a growing business including acquisitions, team hires, building a growth strategy and improving financial performance.
